GRANT & BRITTANY ARE MARRIED...
07.30.2008

I can't say enough about Grant and Brittany.  We met them last year at Gran't sister's wedding and we hit it off from the beginning.  They are as sweet as can be and have the most genuine spirits.  I absolutely love them!  Well, their day was nothing short of amazing.  We showed up to the church during a downpour.  I guess you could say that some nerves were floating around since Brittany really wanted to do the majority of their pictures outdoors.  Well, God was gracious once again and it turned out perfect.  The rain stopped, the clouds went away...and it really warmed up. :)

This is a favorite of mine.  They look so sweet and comfortable in each other's arms.

Isn't she lovely?

This shot is for Brittany because she loves fun ring shots.

Girls just wanna have fun...

A sweet moment during the ceremony with their parents.

Grant and Brittany have been dating for years.  I'm sure this is a moment that they have thought about for a long time...we're married!  Such a surreal moment...

Grant and Brittany had the coolest car to ride around in...love this shot!  I must say that I would have loved to shoot more in this spot, but the car couldn't be turned off--in fear that it may not start again--and it was blazing hot outside.  I'm appreciative that they were even willing to get this close to the hot car.  :)

The driver fit his role perfectly.  He was in a brown suit with a yellow tie along with his top hat...such a nice man.

A special moment between father and son...

Thanks Grant and Brittany for allowing us to celebrate your day with you.  It was an honor and we wish you the best as you start this amazing journey together.  Love to you both...

AND THE FUN CONTINUES...
07.28.2008

with this family.  I knew from the first few moments of meeting this family that I was going to love them.  We had many laughing moments, falling moments and acting down-right silly moments.  The mom of this family, Pam, is actually the nanny for our two nephews in Des Moines.  She is so sweet and their family is a blast...it's no wonder that Jeremy's brother and sister-n-law love them all so much.  It only took minutes for me to figure it out.  I can't wait to see you guys again!

This jumping shot is absolutely hilarious.  The positions they would get themselves in while jumping was quite shocking.  :)

Yes, there were more of these moments throughout the session...nice job, Maison.

...AND THE SUN CAME UP
07.28.2008

If you recall from the previous post, the rains began to come down bringing our session to a close earlier than expected.  Well, this sweet family's time was supposed to be following their session, but the rain refused to give us a break.  We actually tried driving north to avoid the rain, but it still caught up to us.  So, what did we do?  We got up bright and early and started their session at 6 am.  Oh, I wish I was kidding, but the truth is what it is.  I was leaving for the airport at 9 am and Tonya had to be at work at 7 am.  So, we made it happen without any rain, the sun shining it's rays and a beautiful family.  Of course, I would have loved to have had more time with them, but considering the circumstances we were given I feel as though we made out quite well.  Thanks again for getting up with the sun and I hope to see you again in the future!

Luke was so cute...he did everything I asked. :)  I love this one!

THE RAINS CAME DOWN...
07.23.2008

but not before I got some beautiful moments of this family.  Ryan and Jamie and their two adorable children also live in Iowa.  Had the time situations been different and I actually lived in Iowa, I would have rescheduled this session due to weather.  However, magic happened in the short amount of time we had before the rain drops started to fall.  Thank goodness for ISO's and fast lenses because with each passing minute the sky drew darker and darker.  If only I were exaggerating...  :)

Ryan and Jamie, thank you for allowing me to capture your family...even though it was for only a brief amount of time.  I wish we had had a bit more. :)  The love for your family and each other is evident.  Thank you for reminding us again what truly matters in this world.  I hope that our paths cross again in the future.  Many blessings to you...

I am loving this first one...
